LAGNIAPPE

A "lagniappe" is an old New Orleans tradition meaning, a little somethin' extra. Here's a list of resources to help make your visit easy and enjoyable.

Rules

What rules? Just kidding, kind of. New Orleans is an open container city but you've got to have the right cup (hint: check your welcome bags). So while you can't walk out with a beer bottle, most bars will happily transfer your unfinished drink to a "go cup". Some bars even have walk-up windows!

Hours

You'll find lots of places are open 24/7 here. Just on our block, there's Igor's, Walgreens, and a liquor store.

While some places actually close for the night at some point, plenty of bars here are 24-hours. Tip: some of them will "close their doors" at 3am, which means literally that and nothing else. The doors themselves are physically closed (not locked) and the bar is still open for business. Good luck!

Happy Hour

It's the real deal down here. You can find it at just about every bar and restaurant in New Orleans, but we'll defer to the smart people at Eater to let you know which ones are worth your while:
